This is essentially Phase 2 of the "staircase program" or "graduation model". Phase 1 begins with beneficiaries growing a garden - and upon successful completion, graduate to the next stage (step) on the development ladder.

Phase 2 is characterized by providing a beneficiary an "asset", also known as "living assets". These assets are provided to help establish income generating activities (e.g. seed, goats, chickens, rabbits, pigs, cows, etc.). Beneficiaries grow and multiply their assets - then sell their crops, eggs, milk, etc to establish an income generating activity - and thereby establish a regular income stream to help support their families.

The asset provided is a loan and not a gift. Repayment of the asset is in the form of asset transfers to other qualified beneficiaries. For example, offspring from animals or a portion of the crop harvested.

How you can help - Our goal is to raise $10,000 to purchase living assets and hire an agonomist and a veterinarian to oversee the program and ensure its success
